U.S. Office of Personnel Management - Ensuring the Federal Government has an effective civilian workforce

FedScope Accessions Cubes

Description

This set of fiscal year trend cubes provides access to accession data.  The numbers reflect the actual number of personnel actions ("Transfer-Ins" and "New Hires") that have taken place within a given fiscal year.  Accessions trend cubes are available for:

  1. Latest 5 Fiscal Years to date
  2. Prior history trends starting with Fiscal Year 2005

The following dimensions (workforce characteristics) are available for analysis in these cubes:

  1. Who (about the employees)
    • Accessions
    • Age (5 year interval)
    • Education Level
    • Gender
    • Length of Service (5 year interval)

  2. What (about their positions)
    • General Schedule and Equivalent Grade
    • Occupation
    • Occupation Category
    • Pay Plan and Grade
    • Salary Level ($10,000 interval)
    • STEM & Health Occupations
    • Type of Appointment
    • Work Schedule
    • Work Status

  3. Where
    • Agency
    • Location (U.S. State, U.S. Territories, and Foreign Countries)
      • U.S. County excluded starting in Fiscal Year 2004 (2nd Quarter)
    • Metropolitan Statistical Area
      • MSA excluded starting in Fiscal Year 2004 (2nd Quarter)

  4. When
    • Date
      • 12 months in fiscal year

The following three measures (statistics) are available in these cubes:

  1. Count (default measure)
  2. Average Salary
  3. Average Length of Service

By default, the first two dimensions (Accession and Date) are displayed as your rows and columns within your data display (crosstab).  You can easily customize your own view for each Accessions trend data cube.
